So today at 3:30pm I went to the movies, and I saw what I would call the best movie of the summer: The Dark Knight. A character that originally started out as a millionaire playing detective in a bat suit that was fun for the kids to run to the comic shops for, has turned into a more dark character, and stared in multiple action films, and this had to be the best of them. While still retaining mystery elements, it has a nice balance of action, character and story development, and it's share of twists and only two you see coming. Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection to be released next month, with Metal Gear Solid 4 to be released later this year? Awesome! The great part about the Essential Collection is that I never actually owned MGS, I never played the Substance version of MGS2, and my MGS3 disc is badly scratched and I've been wanting to play it again. Then there's the matter of price. It's a collection of a game from 1998, a PS2 game released barely a year after the consoles launch, and a game that's twenty bucks tops now-a-days. I bought the Wal-Mart exclusive two disc Transformers DVD set. Basically the movie with a free disc with an animated version of the prequel Transformers comic from IDW. I get to enjoy the movie and a free prequel on the side. Awesome! Though it would have been nice to have the regular two disc edition, but I'm not made of money. Also, it turns out Jazz actually has over five lines before they kill him. Who would have guessed?
